Commitment
Our Commitment to You
Care Jar was created from a simple belief: support should be more than a service - it should be built on genuine relationships, trust, and a deep understanding of the people we support.
As a new provider, we have the opportunity to build differently. Rather than following "the way things have always been done," we are committed to creating a service that is responsive, adaptable, and centred around the individual. We recognise that every person has their own goals, preferences, strengths, support needs, and definition of a good life. Our role is to listen, learn, and provide support that reflects what matters most to you.
As a family founded on lived experience of disability, neurodivergence, and medical trauma, we understand the value of support that sees the whole person, not just a diagnosis, funding plan, or list of goals. We know that meaningful support considers all aspects of a person's life, including their relationships, interests, wellbeing, culture, identity, and aspirations.
Our commitment is to provide support that is person-centred, trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and grounded in dignity, choice, and respect. We believe the people we support are the experts in their own lives, and we are privileged to contribute our knowledge, experience, and care in ways that complement their expertise.
When you choose Care Jar, you can expect us to:
-
Listen with intention and value your voice.
-
Respect your choices, culture, identity, lived experience, and individuality.
-
Build genuine relationships based on trust, consistency, and mutual respect.
-
See you as a whole person, not just your support needs.
-
Advocate with you and support you in navigating services and systems when you choose.
-
Promote autonomy, self-determination, and opportunities that align with your own goals and values.
-
Communicate openly, honestly, and reliably.
-
Continuously reflect, learn, and improve so that our support evolves alongside the people and communities we serve.
As a growing organisation, we are committed to remaining flexible, innovative, and accountable. We welcome feedback, embrace new ideas, and continually seek better ways to provide meaningful, high-quality support. We believe that being a new service is a strength, it allows us to be intentional in everything we do, ensuring our practices are shaped by current evidence, lived experience, and the voices of the people who place their trust in us.
Our goal is not simply to deliver support, but to contribute to lives filled with connection, opportunity, belonging, and purpose. Whether we're supporting you in your home, your community, your education, employment, or everyday life, our commitment remains the same: to provide thoughtful, holistic support with integrity, and to ensure you remain at the centre of every decision that affects you.
At Care Jar, you're never just another participant, you are a valued individual, and we are honoured to be part of your support network.

Our Commitment to Our Team
At Care Jar, we believe exceptional support begins with a supported, respected, and empowered team. We are committed to creating a workplace where every person feels welcomed, valued, and able to contribute their unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives.
As a growing organisation, we are intentionally building a culture founded on trust, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning. We know that the best ideas often come from the people providing support every day, which is why we encourage open communication, thoughtful discussion, and respectful challenge. We want our team to feel safe sharing feedback, asking questions, and suggesting new ways of doing things that enhance the quality of support we provide.
When you join Care Jar, you become part of a team united by a shared vision: to provide compassionate, person-centred, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming support that genuinely makes a difference. We value people who are committed to learning, willing to reflect on their practice, and motivated by building meaningful relationships with participants and one another.
Our commitment to our team is to:
-
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
-
Recognise and value the knowledge, lived experience, and strengths that every team member brings.
-
Encourage open communication, honest feedback, and respectful conversations.
-
Create a psychologically safe environment where ideas can be shared and practices can be constructively challenged.
-
Support ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and continuous learning.
-
Lead with transparency, integrity, and accountability.
-
Celebrate achievements, recognise contributions, and support one another through challenges.
-
Build a workplace where collaboration, kindness, and mutual respect are part of everyday practice.
We value authenticity, integrity, and a willingness to grow. Together, we aim to create a workplace where people enjoy coming to work, feel connected to a shared purpose, and have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of the people and communities we support.
At Care Jar, we believe that when our team feels respected, heard, and empowered, everyone benefits; our staff, our participants, their families, and our wider community.

Our Commitment to Inclusive, Safe and Respectful Practice
At Care Jar, we are committed to creating an environment where every person feels welcomed, respected, safe, and valued for who they are.
We recognise that every individual brings their own culture, identity, experiences, beliefs, relationships, and ways of engaging with the world. We are committed to providing support that is inclusive, culturally responsive, gender-affirming, and respectful of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, cultures, faiths, family structures, abilities, and lived experiences.
We understand that inclusion is an ongoing practice, not a statement. This means we actively reflect on our own assumptions, seek feedback, continue learning, and adapt our practice to better meet the needs of the diverse communities we support.
Our commitment is to:
-
Create environments where people feel physically, emotionally, culturally, and psychologically safe.
-
Respect and affirm each person's identity, preferred name, pronouns, relationships, and choices.
-
Deliver culturally responsive support that recognises and values the unique strengths, traditions, and perspectives of diverse communities.
-
Foster genuine belonging by ensuring every person is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
-
Challenge discrimination, prejudice, and exclusion whenever we encounter it.
-
Continue learning through cultural humility, reflective practice, lived experience, and evidence-informed approaches.
-
Work collaboratively with participants, families, communities, and cultural leaders to provide support that is meaningful and respectful.
-
Ensure our policies, communication, and everyday practices reflect our commitment to equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
We believe that diversity strengthens our communities. By embracing different perspectives, experiences, and identities, we create a service where people feel recognised, respected, and empowered to be themselves.
At Care Jar, inclusive and respectful practice is not an addition to what we do, it is fundamental to who we are.
